Leslie My inspiration to open San Francisco Massage Supply Co. happened soon after I moved from New Jersey to San Francisco in December of 2005. I'd been in practice for over 15 years and was thoroughly accustomed to having a supply store that I could just drive over to and get what I wanted when I wanted it. Simple as that. No online shopping, no shipping charges, no waiting. And plus, if I didn't know what Organic Unrefined Coconut oil felt like, or whether I liked French Lavendar or Hi Alps Lavendar, I could just go feel it, or smell it! While waiting to get my SF Massage License processed, I was sitting next to another MT, and asked her where everyone got their supplies. Well, of course, you know she said "Online."

A light bulb went off over my head, and when I got home I told my fiance that I wanted to open a massage supply store. Since we were in the middle of planning our wedding, it had to wait. So as soon as I could, I was doing my research, trying to find out all I needed to know about opening a business and getting my products.

I became involved with a Womens' Entrepreneurial group called Ladies Who Launch, and with them; and leader Allie Covarrubias; was featured on a local ABC show for 5 weeks (it's a long story...) All of this got me moving in a serious way to getting the store opened. In July of 2007 my husband and I found a space we loved, got some funds together, and 4 fast months later - San Francisco Massage Supply Co. was open!
